RACE NARRATIVE

The facilities for Triathlon racing are outstanding.  We have full use of the Water Park Sports Centre with changing facilities, restaurant and an elevated viewing terrace.  The race will start from the front of the Centre with the swim taking place in the well marked, calm waters of the Country Park Loch.  The bike course - 39Km - will be over a challenging six circuits of closed roads running adjacent to the Loch.  Finally, the run will be two laps of a flat, fast 5K loop taking the competitors around the Loch to the side opposite to the Water Park Centre.

Scematic Race Site Maps can be viewed here.

There will be the facility to check-in and leave bikes in a secure area from 4.00pm till 6.30pm on Saturday afternoon.  We have made arrangements for a supervised practice swim in the Loch from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.  Entry from the slipway in front of the Water Park Centre.

On Race Day, Registration will Open at 06.15hrs for the race to start at 08.00hrs.  We will probably need to operate two waves, details of which will be posted on the website at least 10 days before the race.
