This GTC winter training programme runs from the end of September until spring. Please also see member and coaching etiquette.

Weekly swim sessions

We have 17 sessions each week. To find out more see Swim Squad Sessions. It is important to also read GTC Squads.

Monday: Track running

Huntershill Sports Hub, Bishopbriggs

7pm – 8pm 

A GTC track running session. This session is for all abilities. All you need is yourself, some running shoes and comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather on the night. There are changing facilities at the hub,  as well as parking and covered cycle racks.

Tuesday: Running & swimming

Glasgow Club Maryhill, 34 Gairbraid Avenue, Glasgow, G20 8YE

Running:  6 45pm – 7 45pm A fitness and conditioning run session; leaves the Maryhill Club pool foyer at 6.45pm prompt and returns in time for the 8pm swim. Suitable for all levels.

Allander Leisure Centre swim:  7 30 – 9pm (90mins)

Please note that places for each session are limited. Please sign up to the booking system. £3.75 per session/1hour; £5.65 per session/1.5hour, £2 students/concessions/16-18 yrs.

7pm for 7.10pm start: An hour of triathlon-specific spin, focused on retaining and building cycling endurance over the winter.

Book in on the booking system. £4 on the door. Restarts October 5, 2017. 

Thursday: Running

Southside session

Glasgow Club Bellahouston, 31 Bellahouston Drive, Glasgow G52 1HH.

Cost: £2.25

Meet at front door at 6.30pm. Depart 6:45pm. Approx one hour session

Group running sessions to develop technique, aerobic endurance and strength.  Open to all abilities and tailored accordingly. Wear reflective/bright clothing.

West End session

Western Baths, 12 Cranworth Street, Glasgow, G12 8BZ.

Cost: £2.25

Meet at 6.30pm for a 6:45pm start. Approx one hour session.

Group running sessions to develop technique, aerobic endurance and strength.  Open to all abilities and tailored accordingly. Wear reflective/bright clothing.

Friday: Swimming, 8 30 – 9 30pm (October – May)

Saturday: Rugged runs

Venue: TBC each time on Facebook. Restarts September 16, 2017.

A session that takes place every three weeks and alternates between the north of the city and the southside. These are off-road and take the form of a longer, steadier group run. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring food/drinks. Mobile phones are also recommended. Free

Saturday/Sunday as advertised: Brick sessions

Meet in front of India of Inchinnan, Renfrew PA4 9LH.

A bike-to-run session as arranged via Facebook (weather permitting).

Brick training is a key part of triathlon training and it will improve your performance. Like all of our sessions, they are suitable for all members.
