Volunteering with the club

Winter Training 2015.
The training details have been updated for winter, so check it out there. You may not be aware, but the club membership has grown a lot this year and we are offering a larger range of coaching services than ever before to a continually expanding group and those people who volunteer to help (race focus group, committee, coaching, junior sessions, race committees, official committee, swim filming, social media/website, cycle skills/group riding sessions) could do with some help.

There are two places on the committee for ordinary members, it doesn’t require a lot of time and it’s the perfect opportunity to try it out before the AGM and new elections in January 2015. Contact President Colm or secretary@glasgowtriathlonclub.co.uk Who are the committee members?

I could do with some help with the website. Mainly writing skills on the WordPress software that we use to edit the site, so it’s not a techie-job. A good level of enthusiasm for writing is the main requirement, I will give you all the training you need in WordPress – and it would be useful on your CV (well that depends upon your job).

Coaching. We need to keep up a regular rotation of coaches, so get in touch about becoming a coach. There are now ‘Continual Professional Development’ sessions on offer.

The AGM is in January – have you ever thought of getting involved with the committee? It’s not too much work, but as with all clubs and societies, it’s always the usual suspects doing everything across multiple disciplines (coaching, committee, race-committees, group leading).

There’s a ton of stuff going on this year, join in any way you can.

  1. I could help with web writing. It depends on how much there is to do because, like so many people, life/work/play balance is a juggling act. But it would seem churlish not to offer my assistance!
