Announcing the Super Summer Series…

Bonjourno! Here is the draft timetable for the Super Summer Series. Depending on leading rider availability (or if weather forecast is dire), dates could be subject to change. If you are available on any of these dates and would be happy leading a group (by map or GPS) then let me know, you don’t need to be a coach, just confident that you know the route. We will ride as follows:

May 11th  Tour of the Borders Sportive Route – Peebles
Short option 55 miles
Medium 67 miles
Long option 77 miles

June Saturday 21st   5 ferries
A long day out although not much cycling, to make this route longer, cycle to/from the ferry port. Can also do it in reverse direction of what Gav and I did (i.e. anti-clockwise).

July 12th   Graham Obree route NOTE THE WRONG ROUTE HAD BEEN POSTED – edited on 02/07
68 miles (options to shorten if need be)
ooking to meet at 9:30am at Auchincruive estate (as on map link)

August 9th (the longest ride of the SSS)
Radar Ride Sportive route from Wanlockhead, 104M

September 6th   Loch Awe Circuit
Start and finish in Inverary

Providing sufficient numbers there will be two groups to cater as best possible to the range of ability.  First group average speed above 16mph.  Second group below 16mph. Where possible there will be two distances – the full route and a shorter version.

Bike fitness is required – these rides, being long and hilly, aren’t suited to absolute novice riders

What to bring:
A road bike in good mechanical order
Tyres in good condition
A pump
Tyre levers
Inner tubes – at least 2
Multi – tool
Food and water bottles
Cash for café stop/extra food
Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions
A mobile phone

Be prepared for these rides as if you were going to attempt them on your own.
