Glasgow Tri Newsletter 72

Dear members,

We are still looking for more volunteers for our club’s youth aquathlon on Sunday 23rd August at the Allander sports centre. Please email Wendy at if you can give up just a few hours, 8:30am til before noon. If you aren’t available but can spare some home (or purchased!) baking, Helen will be running a cake stall to raise funds for the youth section then please let us know!

Remember that from Thursday 3rd September, both run sessions will take place from a meeting point at Bellahouston Sports centre. Please get yourselves along and support our new location – faster paced running intervals is an excellent way to improve your speed and running with others is much better motivation than running alone!

Andrew and Iain Todd were racing in the final event of the Tour of Clydeside (5 days, 5 races, distances from 7km to 10km and south and north of the Clyde!), the Bella Belter 10km. They ran 47min-ish (stopwatch malfunction!).

Quite a few folk were parkrunning at the weekend, most @ Tollcross, where Caroline Findlay was celebrating her 50th parkrun! @ Tollcross park were John Paul Murphy (20:33), Mark Cohen (24:16), Caroline Findlay (28:58), Charlotte McClelland (29:06), Maureen Boyd (29:36); running @ Pollok park was Bill Rees (22:48); @ Strathclyde park was Simon Fraser (22:06); @ Victoria park were Billy Cameron (18:47) and Tracey Davies (27:24); and parkrunning on tour @ Cabinteely parkrun was Tom McGuinness (20:11). Racing at the Victoria park junior parkrun on Sunday was Amiya Patel finishing in 9:53.

Anyone fancy parkrunning this weekend – Pollok or Victoria park and followed by a cycle and coffee afterwards. Email if you fancy it!
