Monday saw the return of the GTC track running sessions at Huntershill Sports Hub in Bishopbriggs. This is currently a trial session with a limit of 15 participants and in accordance with Covid-19 phase 3 guidelines.
GTC head coach Vicky Begg led the session. She said: “It was easily possible to adhere to the guidelines, especially because the track has marked lanes and it is wide enough for people to keep their distance from each other.
“We split into two groups, with one using the inside lane and the other group using the outside lane. Runners were spaced out along the lanes and if they wanted to over-take they were asked to use the inside two lanes.
“It worked really well and everyone seemed happy with the arrangements.”
She added: “It was great to get back to a face-to-face coached group session, albeit with a limit on numbers for the time being. We will see how it goes although it was good to see how popular the session was.”
Club member Susan Cameron attended. She said afterwards: “Thank you Vicky for a real run session with real people. It was fabulous to see folk.”
Celia Greig added: “It was so lovely to see everyone and their smiley faces. It was a great introduction back to the sessions.”
Masha Mott also enjoyed the session and said: “It was great to see everyone.”
John Willock added his praise for the session. He said: “It was great to be in company exercising again. I am looking forward to next week.”
A short survey has been issued to participants for feedback on the session.
