The club’s recent Children in Need “Act Your Age” challenge, organised by coach Nicola Dawson, raised £448 for the charity cause.
The theme was “22” – because the club is 22-years-old – and members were encouraged to join in a range of fun activities.
On the weekend of November 7 and 8, juniors and their family members recorded a collective distance for swimming, cycling and running for 22 minutes each.
At cub sessions, from November 9 to 13, members, both junior and senior, were encouraged by coaches to do “22” themed exercises – and then donate to the Just Giving page. Activities included 22 x 100m run, 22 burpees and other strength and conditioning exercises.”
Nicola said: “We have raised an impressive sum and in just seven days we travelled more than 600km with more than 70 participants from both juniors and seniors taking part in the Children in Need Act Your Age Challenge.”
