GTC running sessions for all

11262280_10154074879843289_7604867700875166760_nFrom Thursday September 3, 2015, Glasgow Triathlon Club running sessions to suit all fitness levels, abilities and speeds will take place outdoors at Bellahouston Sports Centre on the southside of Glasgow.

The sessions are suitable for beginners through to experienced runners and offer the opportunity to learn from our experienced coaches. The focus will be on faster-paced running intervals.

The existing Thursday running sessions from Glasgow High School will be replaced by those at  Bellahouston.

GTC president Sean Webster says: “The running sessions are a really good way to improve your speed. In addition, running with other people is much better for motivation than running alone.

“There is already a good regular turn out at the sessions for beginners at Bellahouston so it makes sense to also hold the sessions for more experienced runners in the same place on the same night.

“It would be great to see more members heading along to these sessions.”

The format will see a mass warm-up after which the group will split into ability levels for the coached training.

Many GTC members have seen their running ability and speed improve thanks to coached running sessions.

The meeting point is in the foyer at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm prompt start. The sessions cost £2 for members.

The pre-swim running session on Tuesdays will remain at Maryhill Pool.
