One-to-one private triathlon coaching from GTC coaches

If you are looking for a more personal level of triathlon coaching, a number of Glasgow Triathlon Club coaches offer private one-to-one coaching. These are paid-for services and operate outwith the GTC coached sessions. You can make individual enquiries to each coach.

Crawford Whyte

Crawford with his wife Emma, also a GTC member.

Crawford’s qualifications include Level 3 Triathlon Coaching and CiRF Scottish Athletics.

Crawford is the founder of Project 3, which opened as Scotland’s first endurance-specific training centre earlier this year. The Glasgow centre is home to the country’s fastest “Endless Pool” and also offers turbo and strength classes, as well as one-to-one coaching and analysis from a number of experienced coaches.

Crawford works for Triathlon Scotland running a development elite group in Glasgow. He has had athletes compete at both elite and age group Great Britain representation.

Crawford’s main sporting passions have long been fell running and cycling – and he only learned to swim when he was 20 because he grew up on the Isle of Mull with no swimming pool.

Despite being a latecomer to swimming, he competed at a national level in triathlon for a few years. His best triathlon performance was 4:14 at Luxembourg 70.3.

Crawford took up coaching after developing a serious injury that ruled him out of sport for a number of years.

He has now been coaching for 10 years and, previously, he has been head coach of both junior and senior athletes at a triathlon club. More recently, he started racing ultra marathons, with a successful season in 2017. After time out for an operation on an injury, he is  now building himself back up.
